Volunteer

Four hours a week, for six months

That is the shape of it. We would rather have a small commitment somebody keeps than a large one that quietly stops.

Volunteer With Us. Make a Meaningful Impact. Join the Asia-Pacific Youth Culture Foundation (APYCF) and contribute to scientific research, education, community development, and public welfare. Collaborate with researchers, professionals, and community partners worldwide while gaining practical experience and developing valuable skills.

Most volunteer opportunities are fully remote and flexible, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the world. Connect with international colleagues, expand your professional network, and participate in meaningful projects across research, publishing, and community initiatives.

APYCF offers official volunteer service certificates and, for eligible volunteers, personalized recommendation letters for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD applications, as well as academic and employment background verification. All documentation is based on verified contributions and performance. Explore our seven volunteer opportunities below and become part of our global community.

Where we need people

Seven areas. Say which one fits and what you can actually commit to.

Research Assistant Volunteer

Scientific Research & Academic Publishing

Support literature reviews, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and academic publication. Gain hands-on research experience, develop essential academic skills, and contribute to meaningful scientific projects. Ideal for students and aspiring researchers pursuing master’s, PhD, or academic careers.

Operations & Planning Volunteer

Schedules, activities and follow-up

Plan activity calendars, coordinate schedules with partners and volunteers, take meeting notes and follow up on agreed actions.

Human Resources Volunteer

Recruitment, onboarding and handover

Look after volunteers from first contact to handover. You’ll answer enquiries, match people with suitable roles and keep rotas and records up to date.

Marketing, Communications & PR Volunteer

Social media, newsletters and outreach

Write social media posts, newsletters and website updates that share our programmes’ stories with supporters and partners.

IT & Data Support Volunteer

Tools, spreadsheets and data

Maintain the shared drives, forms and tools our remote team relies on. You’ll organise programme data and offer friendly technical help.

Journal Writing & Publishing Volunteer

APYCF Journal

Support the APYCF Journal from submission to publication, from screening manuscripts to liaising with authors and copy-editing.

Local Partnerships Volunteer

Partner liaison and development

Build relationships with local partner organisations, understand community needs and make sure agreed actions are followed through.

The formal volunteer role

Alongside those areas there is one defined position, with a named supervisor, a term and set hours.
